Scented wood and leathery notes
Seedlip are the masters at mixing, and they’ve never been afraid to look in a different direction for their flavour inspirations. This aperitif eschews the traditional citrus for something utterly different: woody notes, using cherrywood, acorn and oak and cassia bark. The smoky flavours, with notes of leather, coffee and tobacco are like a Cambridge professor’s study in a glass. There’s a spicy fudginess somewhere in the mix too. I wouldn’t want to drink this every day – it’s a little too demanding for that – but in the right mood (which might be sitting by the fire on a blustery autumn evening) – it will be perfect.
