A great everyday lager
As regular Peroni/Moretti/Budweiser lager drinkers, this is now one of our go-to alcohol free lagers. Launched in March 2019 it is from an Italian brewer who has been making beer since 1859 and has a reputation for quality and tradition. This is a pale amber colour, with a head that disappears very quickly on pouring. It mixes water, barley malt, hops and natural flavours. The nose is dominated by a malt grains with a hint of lemon. The taste is crisp, fresh and slightly aromatic, with citrus. It has none of the tinniness that low alcohol lagers sometime come with. Other reviews online suggest that it is one of the best substitutes for the real thing. We would agree, it’s robust and similar enough to regular lager for it not to feel like any compromise. In fact compared to some “real” lagers, I think it’s better and more flavourful. If you’re seeking a good lager, definitely try it. At 66 calories for a 330ml bottle, it’s neither high nor low.
