It shouldn’t be possible. This is a wine with all the flavour and depth of a full-alcohol Sauvignon but with only 9% alcohol. We all know that usually means increased sweetness and/or a watery taste. This is on a different level: the makers harvest the grapes earlier in the summer when their sugar levels are naturally lower, which also means the alcohol level is lower. it is simply a very good sauvignon, no compromise, no loss of flavour. It has all the classic Sauvignon acidity, with notes of passion fruit and grapefruit mellowing to a sherbet lemon and mango finish. It’s fabulously drinkable and a perfect sauvignon. Huge credit to Brancott to pulling this off. And absolutely deserves all the medals.
