One for the purists
This is a thoroughly traditional Vino Verde. The label derives from the embroidery of the region, the grapes are a classic blend of Trajadura, Loureiro, Arinto and Azal and it even comes with a cork! The wine itself is also thoroughly conservative. It’s spritz is minimal, perhaps echoing back to the pre-CO2 enhanced days (although myself I prefer it pumped-up a little more). And the flavour is simplicity itself – a slightly underlying fruitiness balanced with a mineral finish, both of which is under-stated.
Overall, this is a goldilocks Vinho Verde. Clear, fresh and simple with nothing over-stated and maybe one for the purists. But perhaps not entirely exciting either.
