Super cool, delicious and good for you
With its fantastically funky labels this kombucha (or booch) is made on a farm in Cheshire by a small team using all natural ingredients. It has won two Taste awards and rightly so. There are now ten punchy flavours:
All are delicious but we especially love the Ginger flavours – with Yuzu it is like a particularly refreshing ginger ale and with blueberry it becomes a little more fruity. And they’re good for you – low in calories (about 50 Kcal per tin) and being fermented they are full of antioxidants and probiotics, or live bacteria, that boost the health of intestinal cells, improve immune function and aid in food digestion. And they’ve added a sprinkling of CBD to a few of the flavours as well as an extra pick-you-up!
As with all kombuchas this is made from fermented tea (here, it’s green and black organic) to which they add raw cane sugar and live bacteria and yeast cultures, leaving it to ferment for two weeks. The great thing about Kombucha as an alternative to alcohol is that it has that depth of flavour, with the slightly acidic tang.
It is a great alternative to beers and wines.
