Review

This is the little brother of the Spätlese, made to be dryer – hence the Kabinett title – but facing an uphill task given its low ABV.  It has a decent balance but is just a little unexciting, and the typical Riesling rich honey and flora tastes are muted.  So a decent attempt at something dryer, and cheaper, but not really exciting. Instead I’d go for the Spätlese any day.

Makers Notes

The stone cross (Kreuz) in this vineyard was dedicated by the people of Rüdesheim to Mary Magdalen after the Black Death. This ice pure Riesling Kabinett has zesty lemon and lime flavours and a mineral texture which perfectly partners Asian and spicy cuisine, or enjoy well chilled as a refreshing aperitif.
