You might want to knock back my enthusiasm by about 50% because I love, love, love the New Zealand sauvignons anyway, and consider the fact that these wines lend themselves very easily to being made in a reduced alcohol format as one of the great gifts of nature. This is a delicious zesty Sauvignon with zesty passionfruit and gooseberry flavours. It’s made by Beth Forrest whose family produce The Doctors sauvignon. It’s a fine, fine wine, and it’s incredibly exciting that it is also just 9.5%. To my taste it is just fractionally not as satisfying as her parents’ The Doctors sauvignon, which comes across as just slightly more rounded, but nevertheless, it is a deliciously fruity wine with that classic sauvignon high acidity that sets the taste buds tingling.
