Review

I was excited to find a mid ABV Cabernet Sauvignon, especially one that Will Lyons writing in the Times had enthused about.   But I was sadly disappointed.  The label tells us this is an “aromatised wine based drink, and they are not wrong.  It certainly is not a wine.  Apparently made by diluting actual wine with grape juice and adding a few flavourings, the result is a somewhat watery version of last night’s mulled wine.  Some may like it, but I fear not many and the maker Pierre Chavin seems to agree as it no longer features on their web-site.

Makers Notes

An organic Cabernet Sauvignon, elegant and sophisticated. Its tasty black berries [sic] notes make it irresistible and thanks to its low alcohol, it provides a real feeling of lightness
