Very disappointing – not a wine
I was excited to find a mid ABV Cabernet Sauvignon, especially one that Will Lyons writing in the Times had enthused about. But I was sadly disappointed. The label tells us this is an “aromatised wine based drink”, and they are not wrong. It certainly is not a wine. Apparently made by diluting actual wine with grape juice and adding a few flavourings, the result is a somewhat watery version of last night’s mulled wine. Some may like it, but I fear not many and the maker Pierre Chavin seems to agree as it no longer features on their web-site.
Or this drink may well be available from your high street supplier – we’re sorry we cannot check them all but you might like to.
