A palatable low alcohol alternative

It’s the holy grail – the alcohol-free red that’s actually OK, actually potable. And it’s often given the rating of the best of the low-alcohol reds. Clearly though when people buy it by mistake, thinking it’s the 13.5 ABV version (and it pretty much comes in the same bottle) they have been disappointed as it does of course taste different.
But for those searching for an acceptable low alcohol red it really isn’t bad, in fact we could even go as far as to say a good alternative. It’s a deep red, winey colour and there are aromas of dark summer fruits, most dominantly blackberries and blackcurrants, and tannin – a pleasant smelling red. The taste is slightly acidic but the finish is really smooth and it really is a fair substitute for anyone who’s dining and driving and wants a hearty red. Four of us tried it and three of us were impressed. It is a rare achievement – a low alcohol red that you actually want to drink more of and might choose.
